Less is more for the future of weddings. Extravagant nuptials are taking a back seat to intimate, personalised family celebrations. While the small wedding movement has increased due to the restrictions of COVID-19, we anticipate it will last beyond 2020.

For couples who would prefer to do something smaller (and appease their families), Baedeker’s characterful and quirky spaces offer an unforgettable experience and ‘photo ops’. If you are unsure about committing to a celebration, we are extremely flexible and work closely with catering legends Wine & Dine’m to do whatever it takes to ensure you have the best experience throughout the planning process and at your event.

Make yourself at home at Baedeker and create an intimate wedding for 50 guests or less.  A Mini or Micro-Wedding typically includes a short ceremony, followed by champagne, cake, a few happy snaps and a dance or two. The Garden and Acland Room each provide a blank canvas for you to personalise and we offer just the right amount of flexibility for couples (you can even include your pets in the ceremony!)

While eloping is not new we are predicting a rise in the Minimony, known as an enhanced elopement it incorporates up to 10 guests. If your destination wedding or elopement plans were cancelled, consider a unique ceremony in our hidden garden to ensure your loved ones can attend. Set amongst the backdrop of our timeless building and one of Brisbane’s original railway lines, The Garden is Fortitude Valley’s best-kept secret, reminiscent of an English tea party, with all the style and flair to match.
